Thinking of others…

Last year some of our older children at Happy Kids Kungsbacka did a fund raising sale to raise money after the natural disaster in the Philippines. When the children came forward with the idea we thought it was a great idea, but we made it very clear to them that if they wanted to do this they would have to plan and run the sale all by themselves. The children did an amazing job and in doing this we saw that the children also accomplished many goals in the curriculum and more importantly gained a greater understanding of the world around them.

In light of this experience we have decided to adopt a charity that Happy Kids will support under the year. The charity we have chosen to support this year is UNICEF. For those that don’t know UNICEF is a United Nations Program that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries.

More information will follow in due course but if you have any ideas of how we can raise money or help spread awareness then we will be very happy to hear them.

Parent Association

We have now set up a parent association in both preschools. The group will meet a few times a year together with members of Happy Kids’s management and discuss the preschool from a parent perspective. We see this as just another way that our parents / guardians can have their voice heard. If you have a matter that you would like the group to raise for you on you behalf (openly or in confidence) then you will find a list of group members and their email addresses on the noticeboards in each preschool.

The first meeting will take place on 16th September in Kållered and 17th September in Kungsbacka.
